Westminster man guilty of marijuana possession

December 22, 1998

A Westminster man arrested in August after 10 potted marijuana plants were seized from his property was found guilty yesterday of possession and manufacture of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dennis W. Bare, 38, pleaded not guilty in Carroll County Circuit Court. He stipulated to a chemical analysis of the 3-foot-tall plants, which were seized Aug. 4 in a state police raid in the 1100 block of Sullivan Road, court records show.

Bare, who now lives in the 400 block of Uniontown Road, was found not guilty of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and of maintaining a common nuisance. He was acquitted on a weapons charge, and prosecutors dropped charges on possession of stolen property.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 2.
