Clay at play

December 17, 1998|By John Dorsey

Six ceramics artists are featured in the current Villa Julie College show "Clay: On and Off the Wall." It is one of a series of exhibits in which arts institutions in the region create shows at the college's art gallery. The series began last year with a show organized by the American Visionary Art Museum and will

continue next year with a show by Goya Girl press.

This time, Baltimore Clayworks contributes the show, with its executive director, Deborah Bedwell, as curator. Participating artists are Patrick Caughy, Carol Grant, Maman Rikin, Ray Chen, Helen Otterson and Leigh Taylor Mickelson. All of their work is sculptural, not functional.

At the art gallery of Villa Julie College, 1525 Greenspring Valley Road, Stevenson, through Jan. 23, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (to 8 p.m. Wednesdays), 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 410-486-7000.
