Tonight's game

December 07, 1998

Green Bay (8-4) at Tampa Bay (5-7)

Time: 8: 20, chs. 2, 7.

Line: Packers by 4.

Vs. spread: Packers 5-5; Bucs 5-7.

Outlook: Maybe it's having to breathe the Vikings' fumes in the NFC Central, but Green Bay's Mike Holmgren is getting punchy. How else to explain his expletive-laced response to a heckler last week? Well, the Buccaneers will provide just the tonic that he and the Packers need. And Tampa Bay will miss LB Hardy Nickerson (viral infection) a lot more than it did last week against lowly Chicago.

Notable: This is the Bucs' first Monday night home game since 1983.

Injuries:

PACKERS: Out: LB Lamont Hollinquest (knee). Doubtful: G Marco Rivera (knee). Questionable: WR Robert Brooks (hamstring); WR Antonio Freeman (jaw); RB Raymont Harris (shin); DE Vonnie Holliday (ankle); CB Rod Smith (knee). Probable: DT Santana Dotson (shoulder); RB Dorsey Levens (ankle); WR Derrick Mayes (knee); CB Craig Newsome (knee).

BUCS: Out: G Jorge Diaz (foot). Questionable: CB Anthony Parker (hamstring); WR Bert Emanuel (ankle). Probable: TE John Davis (hamstring); WR Jacquez Green (back); CB Brian Kelly (knee); T Jason Odom (hip); LB Shelton Quarles (hamstring).
