Frostburg defeats Villa Julie, 88-73 Tose scores 22 for Bobcats in Chowan consolation

Billy Tose scored 22 points, Alan Moore had 15 and Stephen Re added 14 yesterday to lead Frostburg State to an 88-73 win over Villa Julie in the consolation game of the Chowan College Shootout in Murfreesboro, N.C.

The Bobcats (3-4) shot 35.6 percent for the game but attempted 90 shots to the Mustangs' 52.

Michael Palmere had 21 pointsfor the Mustangs (0-6).

NYU 70, Johns Hopkins 65: Mark Mamakos scored 30 and had eight rebounds to lead the host Violets (3-2, 1-0) past the Blue Jays (5-2, 0-1) in the University Athletic Association.

Pablo Koropecky had a career-high 20 points for the Blue Jays.

Norfolk State 72, UMES 63: Damian Woolfolk, Kevin Perry and Will Brooks scored 10 apiece as the host Spartans (3-2, 1-0) beat the Hawks (3-3, 1-1) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Demetric Reese led the Hawks with 25 points.

Women

NYU 83, Johns Hopkins 64: Jehan Clark and Jessi Nowak scored 21 apiece, and Meg Barber added 20 to lead the host Violets over the Blue Jays (6-1, 2-1) in the UAA.

Leslie Ritter led the Blue Jays with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
