Association names Bozzuto Builder of the Year

The Bozzuto Group of Greenbelt, a regional developer, homebuilder and property management company, was recently named 1998 Builder of the Year in the large-volume builder category by the Suburban Maryland Building Industry Association.

The award cited the Greenbelt firm for "overall excellence in scheduling, supervision, engineering, quality control and ethics."

Bozzuto also won the association's 1998 Finest in Family Living Award for new condominiums priced higher than $140,000 for a three-bedroom home at King Farm Condominiums in Rockville, a 92-unit complex that sold out in one year.

The Grammercy at Town Center in Columbia earned Bozzuto an award of merit in the Rental Apartment category.

Nine certified as specialists in residential mortgages

Nine persons have been certified as residential mortgage specialists after completing a year-long course offered by the Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers in conjunction with the Educational Foundation of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.

They are Michael Jordan, Veterans Home Mortgage, Towson; Neil Sweren, American Home Loan, Baltimore; Joseph M. Brown Jr., Premier Equity Mortgage LLC, Baltimore; Charles E. Morris, CSM Company, Berlin; J. Christopher Webb, The Financial Web, Rockville.

Also, Richard N. Miller and Bonnie Crandell Harris, Money Marketing Inc., Davidsonville; Rosita Christian and C. Brooks, Bosley, First Union Mortgage Corp., Voorhees, N.J.

The Fountainhead Title Group said Martha P. Stephens was named 1998 Affiliate of the Year by the Maryland State Chapter )) of the Women's Council of Realtors. Stephens had already received the same honor from the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA said Cara Riddell, Bel Air/Forest Hill, Pamela Schoch, Cecil County, and Don Oates joined the company as sales associates.
