Aisha Abdul-Rahman, 85, Egypt's leading female Islamic writer, philosopher and literary critic, died Tuesday in Cairo after a heart attack. She received her primary education at home at a time when women were not encouraged to go to school.

Frederic W. Gettelman, 83, a master brewer from one of the families that gave Milwaukee its rich tradition as a beer producer, died Monday in Milwaukee. He was chairman of A. Gettelman Brewing Co. in 1961, when his family sold the 107-year-old firm to Miller Brewing Co., the nation's No. 2 brewer.
