Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Northeastern District

Shooting: A man, 24, was walking in the 4200 block of Seidel Ave. about 6 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman shot him in the upper body. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His condition was not known.

Southern District

Shooting: A man, 20, was in the 1100 block of Nanticoke St. about 7: 30 p.m. Tuesday when one of three men who approached him pulled a handgun and fired six shots, grazing the man's left foot. The man was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew. Police said that the shooting was related to a neighborhood dispute and that no arrests had been made.

Theft: Four men's suits and a 35 mm camera, all valued at $3,000, were stolen Tuesday from a 1997 Honda Accord parked in the 600 block of Portland St.

Central District

Escape: Two men, 18 and 19 years of age, arrested for drug violations in the 700 block of E. Lafayette Ave. about 7 p.m. yesterday, escaped from arresting officers while each was wearing flex-cuffs. Both remained at large late last night.

Robbery: A woman, 18, was in the 800 block of W. Mulberry St. about 11: 40 p.m. Tuesday when a man with a knife robbed her of a gold rope chain and two diamond rings, all valued at more than $1,000.

Northern District

Burglary: Someone broke into the Belvedere Towers Apartments cafe in the 1100 block of W. Northern Parkway on Tuesday and stole lottery tickets, cash, a stereo radio and compact discs, all valued at nearly $700. The thief entered through a window.

Eastern District

Burglary/robbery: A man forced his way into a house in the 1500 block of N. Spring St. on Tuesday and robbed a female occupant of tennis shoes, valued at more than $100, and smashed six windows. Police said the man is known to the woman, who was advised to seek a warrant for his arrest.

Abduction: A woman was about to enter the Maryland Division of Correction Pre-Release Center in the 1000 block of Greenmount Ave. about 4 p.m. Tuesday to visit her husband when a former boyfriend approached and snatched her year-old child from her. A few hours later, the child was found unharmed at a relative's home in the 3400 block of Elmora Ave. The woman was advised to seek a warrant for the man's arrest.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A 31-inch television and a radio, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1400 block of Belfast Road.

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: A man, 50, putting out trash in the 9600 block of Southall Road about 8: 45 p.m. Tuesday was robbed of more than $300 by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

For the Record

Victim identified: A woman found dead Tuesday in her apartment in the 700 block of Washington Blvd. has been identified as Cheryl Lyde, 28. Detective Kirk Hastings said evidence showed the woman was slain, but that a cause of death had not been determined.
