BLADENSBURG -- About 6,000 county students were stranded for a second day yesterday when 75 drivers called in sick as a dispute between the drivers and school officials intensified despite a tentative contract.

The tentative agreement, announced late Monday, gave drivers and bus attendants an immediate 3 percent raise, but many workers said it would not cover the rising costs of health insurance or address their concerns about overcrowded buses.
