Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Central District

Shooting: A man was in the 500 block of W. Preston St. about 1: 15 a.m. yesterday when a gunman fired several shots, hitting him once in the right leg. The victim ran to the 900 block of Pennsylvania Ave., where police responding to a shooting report found him. The man was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center and released. Police said a bullet pierced the window of a house in the 500 block of W. Preston St., but no one inside was hit.

Northern District

Robbery: A man who implied he was armed forced his way into a house in the 5800 block of Bellona Ave. about 10: 30 p.m. Monday and robbed the female occupant, 67, of property valued at $70.

Southern District

Stolen car: A four-door 1996 Volkswagen Jetta with tags CTG 328 was stolen Monday in the 1200 block of Battery Ave.

Southwestern District

Theft: A woman was arrested Monday when she tried to leave the G. C. Murphy store at Westside Shopping Center in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. without paying for 12 bars of soap valued at $12.

Robbery: A male, 15, was in the first block of S. Franklintown Road about 8 a.m. Monday when a gunman robbed him of a gold necklace, valued at $400, and a key chain.

Northwest Precinct

Robbery/arrests: Two men were arrested in the armed robbery Sunday of Dominic's restaurant in the 4000 block of Falstaff Road. Police said two men, one with a handgun, entered the restaurant about 1 p.m. and ordered an employee to give them money. The pair fled with less than $70. Later, at an undisclosed location, police arrested two suspects and were holding them pending formal charges of armed robbery and related offenses.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: Employees of the AMF Bowling Center in the 700 block of Southwick Drive were leaving the building about 1 a.m. Monday after locking up when two men, one with a handgun and the other a sawed-off shotgun, came from behind a nearby convenience store and ordered them back inside the building. There, one of the employees was forced to open an office safe. The robbers escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.

North Point Precinct

Robbery: After allowing two men she knew into her home in the 2800 block of Liberty Parkway about 8 p.m. Sunday, a woman, 57, was robbed of $200 and struck over the head with a telephone, which also was stolen. She was treated for minor injuries at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and released.

Theft from vehicle: Hand and power tools, all valued at nearly $1,000, were stolen Monday from a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck parked in the first block of Dundalk Ave.

Theft/arrests: Two teen-age girls, one from Dundalk and the other from Edgemere, were arrested Monday when they tried to leave CVS pharmacy in the 7800 block of Wise Ave. without paying for soap products and disposable diapers, all valued at nearly $30.

Burglary: Someone entered the back porch of an apartment building in the 600 block of 47th St. on Monday and stole hand and power tools, all valued at more than $5,000.
