About 100 firefighters from Carroll and Frederick counties and Adams County in Pennsylvania labored for 2 1/2 hours yesterday a mile south of Taneytown before bringing a stubborn brush fire under control, authorities said.

The blaze, discovered about 3 p.m., spread over 15 to 20 acres of fields and woods west of Hapes Mill and Crouse Mill roads, officials said. No one was injured.
