Erica Hayes and Mandy Stephan combined for 48 points and 13 rebounds as Navy defeated San Jose State, 76-40, last night in the Danka Classic in Reno, Nev.

Hayes had 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting while Stephan finished with 21. Twelve players scored for Navy (2-1).

Bucknell 76, UMBC 67: The Bison (2-1) used a 13-0 run to erase an early nine-point deficit and defeated the Retrievers (0-2) in the first round of the UMBC Invitational. The Retrievers (0-2) play Morgan State in the consolation game today at noon.

Duquesne 69, Morgan State 47: LynnDee Howell scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Dukes (2-0) to the finals of the UMBC Invitational.

Freshman Shakira Smith led Morgan State with 14 points.

Johns Hopkins 83, John Carroll 46: Leslie Ritter had a game-high 20 points along with four steals as the host Blue Jays (0-1) defeated the Blue Streaks (0-1) in the opening round of the Blue Jay Classic. Hopkins plays Salisbury State for the championship at 3 p.m. today.

St. Mary's 77, Alvernia 75, OT: Erica Pearson led all scorers with 30 points and 23 rebounds as the Seahawks (2-0) won the AmeriHost East-West Classic in Grove City, Pa.

Western Maryland 67, York 53: The Green Terror (2-0) outrebounded the Spartans (1-1) 53-44 and held them under 28 percent shooting to claim their second consecutive championship of the Lady Spartan Classic in Grove City, Pa. Jill Ibex led the Green Terror with 20 points and tied tournament MVP Katie Snyder (13 points) with nine rebounds.

Bridgewater 75, Villa Julie 44: Amanda Kyger had 17 points as the Eagles (1-1) won the consolation game of the Lady Spartan Classic.

Beaver 56, Goucher 50: The Scarlet Knights (1-1) staved off a second-half rally by the Gophers (0-2) en route to a win in the consolation game of the Goucher Tip-Off Classic. The Gophers had three scorers in double figures, led by Shannon Towner's 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Albright 59, Washington College 55: Behind Rachel Connolly's 17 points, the Lions (2-0) captured the championship of the ShoTime Shootout at Washington College.

Heidelberg 75, Frostburg State 62: The Student Princes (2-0) held off the Bobcats (1-1) in the final of the Frostburg Classic. Shannon Rexrode (Catonsville) led Frostburg with 23 points and 19 rebounds.
