WASHINGTON -- Howard had three players score in double figures on the way to a 65-47 win over Maryland last night at Burr Gymnasium.

Courtney Kirk led the Bison (1-2) with 15 points off the bench, while Yetta Enobakhare and Chanell Washington each chipped in 14. The Terps' Branka Boganovic led all scorers with 21 points and 17 rebounds.

Boganovic's 17 points in the first half, on 8-of-9 shooting, helped Maryland (0-3) to a 30-29 lead at halftime. But Howard used a 19-2 run midway through the second half to take a 57-44 lead with 2: 52 left to play.

The Bison padded its lead by making eight of 12 free throws in the last two minutes.

Other than a layup by Boganovic, the Terps' only points in the final 4: 49 came on a layup and free throw by Rosita Melbourne, who finished with nine points.

Maryland was out-rebounded 57-46 and finished with 32 turnovers, including 19 in the second half.
