Eisner wins 3 trophies in world ad competition

The London International Advertising Awards presented Baltimore-based Eisner & Associates Inc. with three first-place trophies in its annual worldwide competition for advertising excellence. That was the second-highest number of first-place awards captured by any ad agency in the world.

Eisner was recognized for its work on the Maryland State Lottery and [X]oor Sunglasses by Polaroid.

For the Maryland State Lottery, the agency won for a radio commercial in the entertainment category for "Nine Ways to Win," a tongue-in-cheek look at ways to win cash playing the Big Game.

The agency scored two trophies for its work introducing [X]oor Sunglasses by Polaroid in the personal gifts category. One was for a radio commercial and the other for a billboard that features a man dressed as a woman, whose sex only becomes apparent to the consumer wearing [X]oor Sunglasses.

The competition received 16,638 entries from 81 countries. There were 156 trophies awarded.

Eisner & Associates, with 1997 billings of $138 million, is a full-service marketing and advertising agency.
