Mids sink free throws, Sacramento St., 75-71 State women

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Erica Hayes had a game-high 26 points -- including 16 of 17 free-throw attempts -- and eight rebounds, and Laurie Coffey added 21 points yesterday to lead the Navy women's team to a 75-71 win over Sacramento State.

The Mids (1-1) won the game at the foul line, making 25 of 28 attempts, while Sacramento State was 10-for-12.

Mandy Stephan's 13 points gave the Mids three players in double figures. Kristin Niemann led Sacramento State (0-2) with 23.
