UMES women beat Rider in home opener

PRINCESS ANNE -- Senior Kristi Sheldon recorded a double double, scoring 26 points and adding 12 rebounds, to power UMES past Rider University, 86-81, in its season home opener yesterday.

Sheldon scored 24 of her 26 points in the second half during a 50-39 Lady Hawks run. Junior Kiana Lewis added 22 points and Nykesha Thompson had 16 for UMES (1-1).
