Trailing by 21, Broadneck rallies to beat Westlake Bruins victorious, 22-21, in Class 3A quarterfinal

No. 5 Broadneck stormed back from a 21-point deficit to defeat visiting Westlake of Charles County, 22-21, in a Class 3A quarterfinal game yesterday.

Martel Threadgill scored on a 15-yard run with 3: 08 left to pull the Bruins within 21-20.

Quarterback Lehrman Dotson's pass to Laron Colbert for the two-point conversion put the Bruins (11-0) ahead.

No. 15 John Carroll 17, Calvert Hall 12: Quarterback Mike Leatherman's 1-yard run with 55 seconds left lifted the host Patriots (8-2) past the Cardinals (5-5). Leatherman's 12-yard run on the previous play set up the touchdown.

Leatherman also completed passes of 35 and 15 yards to Ricky Black during John Carroll's game-clinching drive.
