Taneytown Bank promotes two lending employees

Taneytown Bank & Trust Company has promoted two employees in its commercial lending division.

George W. Peck has been named vice president. He joined the bank in 1997 as a commercial George W. Peck loan officer on the commercial real estate lending team. In his new position, he will concentrate on developing relationships with builders, developers and investors.

J. Edward Grant has been promoted to commercial lending officer. He joined the bank as a college intern, then took a full-time position in commercial lending. His focus is on the bank's Howard County customers in the Columbia office.

Timonium company names new product manager

Gary Debold has been named senior project manager for the advanced technology division of Riparius Construction of Timonium.

Gary Debold A Carroll County resident, Debold has more than 20 years of experience in advanced technology construction and management, including high-purity water purification systems, pharmaceutical labs and processing, sterile facilities and process duct work and piping.

Support center opens in Westminster building

The Westminster Alternative Center has opened in the Winchester Exchange Building, Suite 224, in Westminster.

The shop provides support and other services to survivors of chemotherapy and breast surgery. Women who have been through these procedures can get a hair-loss consultation, fitting and styling of wigs, turbans and hats, fittings for breast forms, surgical bras and swimwear.

Staff members are hair stylists and certified fitters. Consultations are available by appointment only.

5 associates named officers at Carroll County Bank

Carroll County Bank & Trust Company has designated five bank associates as officers.

J. Edward Gottlieb has been elected senior vice president in charge of retail banking. He has been with the bank since 1986.

Named assistant vice presidents were:

Edith Haschert, the bank secretary and executive assistant to the president. She has been with the bank since 1989.

Linda Sturn, employment manager. She has been with the bank since 1985.

Elizabeth Drumgoole, branch administrator of retail banking, employed since 1985.

Jean Rupert, branch manager at the Hampstead location. She has been with the bank since 1987.

The bank also elected Linda A. Hikel and Brian L. Haight to the board of directors.

Hikel is a partner and vice president at Shelter Systems Ltd.

Haight is vice president and treasurer of Haight Funeral Home in Eldersburg.

Cigar company holding drive for hurricane victims

The Westminster Cigar Co. is collecting clothing, shoes, blankets and toiletries for hurricane victims in Central America.

Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, all major cigar-producing countries, were devastated during Hurricane Georges.

Donations can be brought to the Westminster Cigar Co. at 8 Locust Lane.

Items will be forwarded to the Arturo Fuente Cigar Co., in Tampa, Fla., which will distribute them.
