* Item: Mandelbageriet Swedish Tortes

* What you get: 6 to 8 servings

* Cost: About $10

* Preparation time: 20 minutes to thaw

* Review: The small deli next to the exit at the Ikea home furnishings store in White Marsh must be one of the best-kept secrets in the region. Why else would shoppers bustle by each day without stopping to sample some of the Swedish delicacies found there? These frozen tortes are among the deli's best buys. The Chocolate Almond Torte is deep dark chocolate with mocha undertones. Chocoholics will find it heavenly. The Apple Almond Torte is not quite so rich, but it's still a cut above plain old apple pie. The cream filling is laced with cinnamon, vanilla and lemon. With their short thawing time, the tortes provide a quick but classic ending to a fine meal.
