November 06, 1998|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A 20-year-old woman was robbed and doused with pepper spray after leaving work Wednesday night in Columbia, authorities said yesterday.

About 10: 20 p.m., Howard County police said, the Ellicott City woman was approached on a parking lot in the 5500 block of Sterrett Place by two men dressed in camouflage.

One showed a small handgun, police said, and told the woman to "give me the purse." After she did, the other man sprayed her with pepper spray, and the pair fled in an older-model Volkswagen Jetta.

The victim was treated at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Duane Pierce at 410-313-4618.
