Hampstead woman seriously injured in two-car collision

A Hampstead woman was seriously injured yesterday in a two-car collision near the Reese fire hall on Route 140.

Kelly Ann Friedman, 24, of the 400 block of Dove Lane was taken by state MedEvac helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was in critical but stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

According to state police, Friedman was traveling east on Route 140 when her vehicle was struck by a Dodge Stealth turning onto the highway from Reese Road. The accident occurred at 7: 09 a.m.

The driver of the Dodge, John S. Siguenza, 48, of the 1300 block of Naugahyde Road in Westminster was charged by state police with failing to yield the right of way. He did not require medical attention, police said.

Police

Westminster: A resident of Carroll Street told police Sunday that someone damaged the rear window of his vehicle while it was parked behind his home. Damage was estimated at $100.

Westminster: A student at Western Maryland College told police Sunday that someone damaged his vehicle while it was parked near Gill Gymnasium. Damage was estimated at $500.

Westminster: Employees at Caples Concrete Construction Inc. in the 100 block of Liberty St. told police Saturday that someone broke into the business through a side window and stole more than $2,200 from a safe.

Westminster: A resident of Johahn Drive told police Oct. 26 that someone took property from his residence. The loss was estimated at $200.

Westminster: A resident of New Windsor told police Saturday that his vehicle was damaged while it was parked at the Westminster Wal-Mart. Damage was estimated at $500.

Westminster: A resident of Lacosta Circle told police Sunday that someone broke out the rear window of his vehicle. Damage was estimated at $150.
