McDonogh edges out Park Friends, N. Dame Prep, Severn also advance

McDonogh advanced to the semifinals of the Association of Independent Schools A Division playoffs with two goals in a tie-breaking round of one-on-ones to defeat host Park.

The teams had played to 0-0 tie over regulation and two five-minute overtimes.

The Eagles (5-9-4) were outshot, 13-5, before Lauren Moag and Jamie Tolan scored in the one-on-one round.

McDonogh plays at Roland Park today at 3: 15 p.m.

Friends 5, Maryvale 0: Maron Deering had two goals and an assist in leading the host Quakers (14-3-2) to victory in the first round of the Association of Independent Schools A Division tournament. Molly O'Connor chipped in a goal and two assists for Friends, who held Maryvale (3-10-4) to two shots.

Friends plays at St. Mary's today at 3: 15 p.m.

Notre Dame Prep 1, Garrison Forest 0: Lauren Keller converted off a pass from Lauren Aumiller as the host Pirates (7-7-1) advanced to the quarterfinals of the AIS A Division tournament. NDP plays at Bryn Mawr today at 3: 15 p.m.

Severn 1, Spalding 0: Kay Gingell scored six minutes into the game, assisted by Bif Moorshead as the Admirals (7-5-6) held on to defeat the Cavaliers (3-9). Severn held a 14-3 advantage in penalty corners and plays at St. Paul's today at 3: 15.
