Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Western District

Arrest: A Baltimore County man was arrested yesterday in the first block of Wheeler Ave. and charged with illegal possession of a handgun. Acting on a tip, police searched the man and found a loaded Smith & Wesson .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol. Richard Beverly, 21, of Randallstown was being held at the Central Booking and Intake Center pending a bail hearing today.

Southern District

Theft: Golf clubs valued at more than $600 were stolen from a car parked in the 1700 block of Ridgely St. on Saturday.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A boy, 16, was in the 4200 block of Frederick Ave. about 2 p.m. Saturday when he was assaulted by two males who robbed him of $5.

Northern District

Assault/arrest: A woman, 22, was in the 3600 block of Old York Road on Saturday when a man struck her on the shoulder with a crutch. The woman required no medical treatment. The man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Garrison Precinct

Carjacking: A man, 27, was about to drive away from Owings Mills Mall about 3 p.m. Saturday when two men, one with a handgun, forced their way into his Nissan Pathfinder and forced him to drive to the 10000 block of Red Run Blvd., where they robbed him of jewelry and cash valued at more than $1,000. The robbers drove away in a Volkswagen.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 9300 block of Belair Road through a basement window Saturday and stole six door knobs and several keys. Before leaving, the intruder broke water pipes.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Two thousand dollars was stolen from a house in the first block of Cockeysville Road on Saturday.

Wilkens Precinct

Robbery: A man with a sawed-off shotgun robbed the Royal Farms store in the 500 block of Edmondson Ave. of $200 about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Theft/assault: After stealing a carton of cigarettes from the Royal Farms store in the 4300 block of Washington Blvd. about 3 a.m. Saturday, the thief was fleeing the store when a male customer attempted to stop him. During a struggle, the thief struck the customer with the handle of a knife and attempted to cut him. The thief drove off in a car that was recovered a short distance away. No arrest had been made.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Clothing of unknown value was stolen from Fashion Corner in the 6800 block of Loch Raven Blvd. on Saturday by someone who shattered the front door.

Robbery: A woman, 27, was walking across a parking lot in the 6400 block of Falkirk Road about 12: 30 a.m. Saturday when a man stole her purse containing $5, credit cards and other property.
