Charges pending for Harford man in fatal crash

Havre de Grace police said yesterday that criminal and traffic charges were pending against a Harford County man whose car crashed into a pumping station during a police chase Saturday, killing a teen-age passenger.

A second passenger, who witnesses said was injured and bleeding, escaped and was being sought, said Sgt. Michael White.

White said the incident began about 10: 50 p.m. when someone in a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant fired several gunshots at a man outside the Sommerset Manor apartments in the 100 block of Stansbury Court. The driver of the vehicle sped off as police arrived, he said.

Police chased the car, which crashed into a city pumping station in the 500 block of Erie St., a quarter-mile from the apartments. White said a 9 mm handgun was found in the car.

A passenger, Dante Ramon Sadler, 16, of the 500 block of Plaza Court, Aberdeen, died about 11 p.m. Saturday at Harford Memorial Hospital, White said.

He said the driver, Lacey Darnell Hueitt, 20, of the 100 block of E. Bel Air Ave., Aberdeen, was in stable condition last night at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
