Athletics: Declined to exercise $2.6 million option on 3B Ed Sprague; paid him $260,000 buyout.

Blue Jays: Agreed to $1.35 million, two-year contract with IF Craig Grebeck.

Dodgers: Named Jim Tracy bench coach, Glenn Hoffman first base coach, Charlie Hough pitching coach and Manny Mota part-time coach and Latin liasison. Coach Joey Amalfitano resigned. Cuy Conti was reassigned to minor-league coaching job. Jim Benedict was named minor-league pitching coordinator. Offered coaches Mickey Hatcher and former Oriole John Shelby minor-league positions.

Expos: Signed GM Jim Beattie, and VP of baseball operations Bill Stoneman to three-year contracts. Named Fred Ferreira VP-director of international operations.

Mets: Signed IF Luis Lopez to $1.35 million, two-year contract.

Rockies: Named Tom Probst trainer.

Royals: Named Andre David manager, Larry Carter pitching coach, Steve Hosey hitting coach and Jeff Stevenson trainer of Single-A Charleston (W.Va.).


Nets: Signed lease with New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority through 2007-08.


America East: Named Towson's Richie Moller and Alfonso DeMares men's soccer Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Clemson: Announced that Nov. 21 game vs. South Carolina has been moved to 6: 30 p.m. and will be on ESPN2.
