Celebrating with cookies

Why wait til December to bake cookies? New cookie cutters and custom-colored "sanding sugar" sets in the Martha Stewart holiday catalog are designed to celebrate autumn and Thanksgiving. A set of six handcrafted copper leaf cutters is $52; the sugar and paste food color set used to decorate the cookies pictured is $38.

You can get a copy of the holiday Martha by Mail catalog by calling 800-950-7130 or order on line (www.marthabymail.com/holiday98).

New specialty shop

Bonjour, a specialty shop selling fancy breads, French pastries, gourmet chocolates, coffees, teas and gifts, is scheduled to open today where Lacey's Produce used to be (6070 Falls Road).

Mary Romeo, owner of Coffee Coffee in Bel Air, and Gayle Brier, owner of the French Oven in Baltimore, are the proud parents of the new venture. For hours and information, call 410-372-0238.
