Patapsco shuts out Loch Raven Football roundup

Patapsco kept its state playoff hopes alive by blanking Loch Raven, 15-0, in a Baltimore County league game last night at Dundalk Community College.

Travis Johnston led the Patriots (7-1) with 24 carries for 132 yards, including a 9-yard third-quarter touchdown run. Joe Bena rushed for 136 yards on 26 carries. Calvin Wilson caught his sixth touchdown pass of the season, a 45-yarder from Pat Melucci.

The loss likely eliminated Loch Raven (6-2) from state playoff contention.

No. 4 Bel Air 48, Perryville 6. Quarterback Adam Rafalski threw for three touchdowns and ran for two, including a 54-yard punt return, as the Bobcats (8-0) hammered their Cecil County foes (3-5). Jimmy Brown rushed seven times for 101 yards and a touchdown, and Chris Reynolds ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns on three carries as the Bobcats accumulated 385 )) yards total offense.

No. 13 Annapolis 49, Glen Burnie 0. Panthers running back Rayvon Johnson ran for 251 yards to set a school single-season rushing record of 1,529 yards. He broke the record of 1,378 set by Shawn Taylor in 1992. Johnson had touchdown runs of 1, 65 and 77 yards as the Panthers (6-2) rolled up 452 yards rushing against the Gophers (0-9) in an Anne Arundel County league game.
