Commissioners to meet on legislative proposals

The County Commissioners will hold a public meeting at 7: 30 p.m. today in the County Office Building to receive comments on the legislative proposals for the 1999 Maryland General Assembly.

Proposals include those submitted on behalf of the Board of License Commissioners and County Commissioners.

The meeting will be held in Room 003 of the County Office Building, at 225 N. Center St., Westminster.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

Citizen services department to discuss housing program

The Carroll County Department of Citizen Services will hold an informational meeting from 2 p.m. to 3: 30 p.m. Thursday regarding the Self-Help Housing Program.

Operated by Interfaith Housing of Western Maryland, the Self-Help Housing Program assists people in becoming homeowners by helping them build their own homes.

Topics to be covered include "sweat equity," "$100 down" and "self-help."

The meeting will be held at the Carroll County Bureau of Housing, 10 Distillery Drive, Suite 101, Westminster.

Registration is required by today.
