Wayne Roccia threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns as Johns Hopkins defeated Muhlenberg, 34-31, last night in a Centennial Conference game.

Roccia's 27-yard scoring pass to Justin Bellochio put the Blue Jays (5-1, 4-0) ahead 7-0 at Homewood Field, and his 17-yard pass to Chris Gaito pushed Hopkins' lead to 27-10.

Adam Gentile ran for a touchdown and a career-high 218 yards. It marked the first time a Blue Jays running back rushed for more than 200 yards since 1993.

Gentile's 12-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Hopkins a 34-17 lead before Muhlenberg (1-5, 1-4) rallied behind two touchdown passes from Mike McCabe.

The two teams combined for 738 yards of total offense and 475 in punting yards.

Hopkins has scored 30 or more points in four of its six games this season.
