Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Central District

Gunman sought: Police were seeking a gunman who fired several shots into a crowd of men in the 500 block of W. Preston St. about 1: 30 a.m. Saturday, wounding a man, 21, in the left leg. The victim was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday.

Theft: Someone entered the office of EPI in the Signet Tower building in the first block of St. Paul St. on Sunday and stole computer equipment valued at more than $5,000.

Robbery: A man, 33, was in the 1100 block of Myrtle Ave. about 5 p.m. Sunday when four men, one with a handgun, robbed him of cash and two pagers, all valued at more than $80.

Northwestern District

Robbery/shooting: A man, 27, was about to ride off on his bicycle after leaving a grocery store in the 3500 block of Lucille Ave. about 8: 20 a.m. Sunday when a gunman demanded his money. After robbing the cyclist of $50, the gunman shot him in the left side and stomach when the victim attempted to flee. A friend of the victim arrived on the scene and drove him to Sinai Hospital, where he was in stable condition yesterday. No arrest had been made.

Southeastern District

Shooting: Police responding to a shooting report in the 500 block of N. Montford Ave. about 12: 05 a.m. Sunday found a man, 28, who had been shot in the left chest, right arm and abdomen. He was in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital last night. No arrest had been made.

Northeastern District

Shooting: A man, 18, was sitting on the front steps of a house in the 2700 block of Tivoly Ave. about 11 p.m. Saturday when a gunman approached and shot him at least twice in the upper body. The victim was in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital last night.

Southwestern District

Accidental shooting: A woman accidentally shot herself in the left hand while examining a handgun in her home in the 2000 block of Hollins St. about 5 a.m. Sunday. Police said the woman refused medical treatment and that no charges were filed.

Southern District

Assault: A man was sitting on the front steps of a house in the 800 block of Reinhart St. on Sunday when another man approached and struck him in the face with a handgun. The victim suffered an eye injury but refused medical treatment.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Police were seeking a known man who entered a garage in the 100 block of E. Burke Ave. over the weekend and stole a 10-speed bicycle valued at $80.

Burglary: Three bicycles were stolen from a garage in the 6300 block of Pinehurst Road between Oct. 3 and Saturday.

Robbery: A gunman robbed a High's store in the 7200 block of York Road of $100 and a carton of cigarettes about 9 p.m. Sunday. The gunman took cash from the register and Maryland Lottery receipts.

Cockeysville Precinct

Robbery: A woman was walking in the 10000 block of Woodlake Drive about 8 p.m. Sunday when a man approached her from behind and stole her purse containing personal property and more than $300.
