Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Eastern District

Stolen car: A 1988 Ford van was stolen from the 200 block of Mount Royal Ave. about 10: 30 a.m. Friday.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered an apartment through an open front door in the 1000 block of N. Gay St. about 3 p.m. Saturday and took $30 in cash that was on top of a bedroom dresser. The resident of the apartment said she had left her door open while she was doing her laundry.

Theft from auto: Someone broke the left rear window of a car parked in the 2100 block of E. Madison Ave. about 1 p.m. Saturday and took videotapes worth about $40.

Northeastern District

Stolen car: A black 1995 Ford Mustang GT was stolen from the 3900 block of Brendan Ave. between 10 p.m. Saturday and 12: 30 a.m. yesterday.

Stolen car: A blue 1987 Toyota van was taken from the 2800 block of Strathmore Ave. between 11 p.m. Friday and 12: 30 a.m. Saturday.

Wilkins Precinct

Burglary: Someone pried open the door of a job site office at a building under construction in the 4300 block of Hollins Ferry Road about 10 p.m. Saturday and stole a fax machine and a telephone.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a residence in the 5900 block of St. Marys St. through an unlocked window between 7: 15 a.m. Wednesday and 4: 30 p.m. Friday and stole $1,000 in cash and jewelry and credit cards.

Robbery: A man took an unde- termined amount of cash from the Mobil gas station at 1900 N. Rolling Road about 5 p.m. Saturday, then ran across Security Boulevard and got on an MTA bus, where he was apprehended by police.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: A bicycle worth $400 was stolen from the back yard of a house in the first block of McCormick Ave. shortly before midnight Saturday.

Essex Precinct

Purse snatching: A woman walking home after cashing a check had her purse containing $495 snatched from her hand about noon Friday at the intersection of Route 702 and Mansfield Road.

North Point Precinct

Robbery: A woman visiting a friend went to use a pay phone at the intersection of Shipway and Yorkway roads about 12: 30 a.m. yesterday when two men in a blue Chevette stopped and got out of the car and asked her for change to use the phone. One of the men then pulled a knife and went through the woman's pockets. She gave them the 35 cents she was going to use to make her phone call but had no more money.

Illegal possession of alcohol: Two teen-agers, walking on 53rd Street about 9 p.m. Saturday, were arrested and charged with illegal possession of alcohol. The youths had four bottles of liquor, three bottles of malt liquor and a bottle of wine.
