Church Home and Hospital names Failing as president

Church Home and Hospital, one of seven hospitals that are part of the Helix/Medlantic Healthcare Group, named Ann C. Failing as president.

A West Virginia University nursing graduate, Failing joined the East Baltimore hospital staff in 1986 as associate director of nursing and was appointed vice president of patient care in 1989. In that role, she coordinated patient care services on all levels of the hospital and its affiliated long-term care facility, Church Home.

A native of Allegany County, the Towson resident also holds an MBA from West Virginia University and a law degree from the University of Maryland. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives.

AMERICOM appoints Baltimore area manager

AMERICOM appointed Dominic Fazio general manager for its Baltimore region. He will supervise the service departments of its 10 area retail outlets. Before joining the Lutherville-based wireless communications support firm, he was district operations manager for Speedy Auto Service. The Essex Community College graduate and Baltimore resident also served as an administrative specialist in the U.S. Air Force.

Hill is director of fair practices

The Maryland Transportation Authority chose Beverly Hill as director of fair practices for the state agency. She has been assistant to the administrator of the Mass Transit Administration and manager of the MTA minority enterprise and affirmative action programs.

The Prince George's County resident attended Bowie State College and is active in several professional organizations.

Banking and finance

J. Christina Raines named senior closer

1st Mariner Mortgage Corp., a subsidiary of Baltimore-based 1st Mariner Bank, appointed J. Christina Raines a senior closer.

She will be responsible for the preparation of closing documents for residential and construction loans. The Pasadena resident was formerly with United Mortgage/Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp. She attended Salisbury State College.
