Technology conference Friday in Gaithersburg

Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. and Clareity Consulting Inc. will offer a conference on new technology, improved automation and the Internet from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the Washingtonian Marriott in Gaithersburg.

The conference will also include a panel discussion on the state of the real estate industry and a presentation by John Featherston, publisher of National Real Estate and Relocation.

12th Realtor Fair Nov. 24 in Washington

The Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors Inc. and the Washington D.C. Association of Realtors Inc. will hold the 12th Annual Realtor Fair Nov. 24 at the Washington Convention Center, 900 9th St. N.W.

The fair will include continuing education classes, networking, a trade show, presentation of annual awards and a seated luncheon.

The fee is $149 for Realtors and $169 for others if registration is made by Nov. 18. After Nov. 18, the cost is $189. For more information, call 301-590-2000.

Realtors honor Monigle and Glick

Moore, Warfield & Glick reports that two members of the Ocean City-based firm received 1998 awards from the Maryland Association of Realtors.

Associate broker Art Monigle was named Distinguished Sales Associate of the Year, while broker/owner Hal P. Glick won the Realtor Community Service Award for boards that have between 599 and 1,999 members.

Maryland Chapter No. 16 of the Institute of Real Estate Management will present a $7,000 check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation at an 8 a.m. breakfast meeting Thursday at the Cross Keys Inn. The money was raised during the chapter's annual golf tournament at Chestnut Ridge Country Club in August.

R. L. Smith Realty Co. Inc. said property manager Paul Twiford has earned the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

American SkyCorp Inc. announces the addition of David Reed, Bruce Scheck and Philip Brown as loan officers; Diane Rychwalski and Vanessa Ware as loan processors; David Smith as accounting manager; and Bonnie Yau as post closer.

Nationwide Homes named Michael S. Daugherty regional manager for Maryland. Headquartered in Martinsville, Va., Nationwide says it is the country's fourth largest producer of modular housing, commercial structures and remodeling additions.
