Family Life Parent meeting at Elkridge Landing Middle

The following activities are planned at Elkridge Landing Middle School, 7085 Montgomery Road:

The Family Life Parent meeting will be Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 220.

The school is collecting Giant grocery store receipts until Feb. 27. The receipts will help Elkridge Landing earn school materials. Each grade has a box marked for the receipts, and students are asked to deposit them in those boxes.

PTA Council to meet Monday in Ellicott City

The PTA Council of Howard County will hold a general membership meeting at 7: 30 p.m. Monday at the Department of Education building, 10910 Route 108 in Ellicott City. The agenda will include the presentation "Use Antibiotics Wisely," offered through the state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Johns Hopkins University.

Black students' parent group to gather at Centennial High

The following activities are planned at Centennial High School, 4300 Centennial Lane in Ellicott City:

The Parents Council of Black Students will meet Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the CHS Career Center.

The CHS Drama Department will perform the improvisational comedy "Comings and Goings" Oct. 8-10. Tickets cost $5 and will go on sale Monday.

The community is invited to the CHS Homecoming Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. Saturday in the cafeteria. Pancakes, sausage, muffins, fruit cups, tea, milk and juice will be served. The cost is $6 for adults; $4 for children age 12 and younger and senior citizens age 65 and older.

The PTSA will hold a parent program, "How Do YOU Handle It?" at 7: 30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the cafeteria. Parents will discuss how they handle curfew, dating, parties, driving and other issues.

The CHS Boosters will hold its bull roast Nov. 14 at Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $40 a person; $10 from each ticket sold can be designated toward the club, sport, activity or class of the purchaser's choice.

College Fair scheduled Oct. 18 at Atholton High

The Howard County College Fair, sponsored by guidance counselors, will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at Atholton High School, 6520 Freetown Road in Columbia.
