Giants: Russ Ortiz's homer was the first by a Giants pitcher since Shawn Estes hit one in Miami on June 3 last season. With nine, Rich Aurilia has the most homers by a Giants shortstop since Chris Speier hit 10 in 1975.

Pirates: Tony Womack stole his NL-leading 56th base in the first inning. He has been thrown out just eight times this season. Pittsburgh has allowed 30 homers while hitting just 14 in its last 27 games.
