Restaurant remains closed because of fire

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health temporarily closed a Brooklyn Park restaurant because of a fire Sept. 8. Popeye's at 5317 Richie Highway remains closed.

Health workers inspected 138 restaurants and other food service establishments between Sept. 1 and Sept. 15 and found 22 with critical food safety violations that were immediately corrected. They found multiple violations at three places.

The Hunan Restaurant at 1957 West St. in Annapolis was cited for faulty hand washing and not holding food at the proper temperature.

The City Dock Cafe at 18 Market Space in Annapolis was cited for not holding food at the proper temperature and for adulterated or spoiled food.

The Mitage Dining Room at 5700 Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum was cited for not properly cooling food and not holding food at the proper temperature.
