Jaguarts' 45 Lead Opponent's Playbook

September 20, 1998|By Mike Preston

The formation: Pro left, offset I.

The action: At the snap, both receivers take inside releases to make it look like a pass, then block off the cornerbacks. Tight end Pete Mitchell (83) blocks the back-side end while right tackle Leon Searcy seals off the outside linebacker and right guard Brian DeMarco blocks the defensive tackle who is lined head up. Center Quentin Neujahr and left guard Ben Coleman double up on the defensive tackle, then Coleman scrapes off to block the inside linebacker. Left tackle Tony Boselli blocks out the defensive end while fullback Daimon Shelton (31), who already is shaded left, lead blocks on the strong-side linebacker. Running back James Stewart (33) follows him through the hole after a handoff from quarterback Mark Brunell (8).
