Navy women win, 3-0, over Mt. St. Mary's Loyola rolls

Hopkins men, women dominate with shutouts

Shannon Filbin scored Navy's first goal at 19: 08 as the Mids extended their winning streak to five and posted their second consecutive shutout, a 3-0 score over visiting Mount St. Mary's in women's college soccer yesterday.

Loyola 4, Iona 0: Kathleen Shields scored twice, including a flying header off a corner kick, as the Greyhounds (3-1-1, 2-0) shut out the visiting Gaels (1-5-0, 0-2).

UMBC 6, Robert Morris 3: Nicole Brooks recorded a hat trick and sophomore Erin Lesh added two goals for the Retrievers.

Johns Hopkins 5, Ursinus 0: Sarah Parola scored a hat trick, and the Blue Jays (3-2, 2-0) shut out the visiting Bears. Salisbury State 4, York 0: Tina Ensor led the Sea Gulls (6-1, 1-0) with two goals as they shut out the visiting Spartans (3-4, 0-1).

Haverford 8, Washington College 0: Nicole Zito scored three goals and added an assist.

Men

Johns Hopkins 7, Swarthmore 0: Teddy Zingman, John Del Monaco and Brian Nourie each scored twice as the Blue Jays (6-0, 1-0) shut out the Garnet (1-7, 0-1), extending their wins to 25 games.

Towson 4, George Washington 1: Richie Moller scored twice to power the Tigers (4-2) past the Colonials (1-6).

UMBC 3, Robert Morris 2: Matt Gormley launched a 35-yard half-volley into the upper right-hand corner of the net with just 17 seconds remaining, giving the host Retrievers (5-2, 1-0 Northeast) a comeback home win.

Catholic 2, St. Mary's 1: Pat Heenan scored the game-winner with a minute left.

Gettysburg 2, Washington College 1, OT: Chris Pryor scored both goals, including the game-winning penalty kick.
