Berman to hold open house for master's program

The Allan L. Berman Real Estate Institute of the Johns #F Hopkins School of Continuing Studies will hold an open house for its Master of Science in Real Estate program from 11: 30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at its downtown center, at Charles and Saratoga streets.

Students taking the 40-credit program can concentrate on commercial development, investment and asset management,

valuation and appraisal, and residential development.

Topics will include market analysis, law, design, construction, investment analysis, finance and land-use regulation.

Classes are to begin at the downtown center in the fall. Students may attend full time for a year or part time for two years. Call 800-468-6548 to reserve a space at the open house.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn acquires Castle Harbor

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn-ERA has acquired Castle Harbor Realty Inc., a Pasadena firm founded in 1988. Broker/owner Charlene Wroten and 17 sales associates now work out of the OPF office in Pasadena.

"OPF's name and services will complement what we already had," said Wroten. "Their personal, family atmosphere will be good for my agents."

A Realtor since 1976, Wroten managed offices for Long & Foster Real Estate and Coldwell Banker before starting her own firm. She holds the Graduate Realtor Institute designation and is a candidate for the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager certification.

Elizabeth Dole to speak at women's leadership event

Elizabeth Dole, president of the American Red Cross, will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon highlighting "Women in Leadership" from 11: 30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Hyatt Regency.

Dole will speak on "The Challenges Facing Women in Leadership in the Next Millennium" at the luncheon, sponsored by the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors, the Real Estate Million Dollar Association and the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors.

Toll Advantage Day today at Annapolis Preserve

Toll Brothers Inc. is holding its annual Toll Advantage Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Annapolis Preserve in Crownsville.

Prospective homebuyers can tour homes under construction, view design options that allow them to customize a house and tour a decorated model and the on-site design center.
