A 20-year-old Arnold woman was killed early Saturday, and her sister and another woman were seriously injured when a car hit theirs' head-on on Muddy Creek Road in West River, Anne Arundel County police said.

Elizabeth Erin Sharp, of the 100 block of Campus Green Drive, died at the scene, police said. Her sister, Sarah Boyd Sharp, 17, of the same Arnold address, and Francis Marion Lephew, 19, of the 1700 block of Lake Ave. in Shady Side, were taken to Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly.

A hospital spokeswoman would not disclose Sarah Sharp's condition yesterday because she is a minor, but said that Lephew was in critical condition.

The driver of the other car, Michael Damien Carroll, 20, of the 1200 block of Oak Ave. in Shady Side, and his two passengers suffered minor injuries. He and Nathan William Roberts, 17, of the 5900 block of Sneed Drive in Deale, and Jennifer Lynn Demoucelle, , of the 5800 block of Deale Churchton Road in Deale, were treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center and released.

Police said Carroll's southbound 1994 Mitsubishi crossed into the northbound lanes of Muddy Creek Road near Shady Oaks Road about 2: 30 a.m. Saturday and collided with Sharp's 1994 Chevrolet. Police said charges are pending.
