Randisi and Maycock promoted at McCormick

The McCormick/Schilling Division of McCormick & Co. Inc. promoted Mary M. Randisi to director of marketing-spices and extracts and Virginia A. Maycock to director of marketing-dry seasoning mixes.

With McCormick since 1976, Randisi has a bachelor's degree in food business management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She is a member of the Executive Women's Network, the American Marketing Association and the Baltimore County Leadership Council.

Maycock, who joined the company in 1986, is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago.

Tompkins becomes director of Comsat broadcast service

Comsat World Systems, a division of Comsat Corp., promoted Alison Ross Tompkins to director of broadcast services for the Bethesda-based firm.

She will be responsible for the sales and marketing of Comsat's Internet, multimedia, television and radio broadcasts.

Tompkins is a graduate of the University of Richmond.

W. B. Doner promoted Polly Burkert to director of human resources for the Baltimore office of the Detroit-based firm.

Previously corporate human resources manager for Earl Palmer Brown in Bethesda, she will be responsible at Doner for all aspects of personnel and employee relations and management of the administrative support staff.

Burkert, a graduate of the University of Buffalo, is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, the American Compensation Association, the Chesapeake Association of Human Resources Professionals and the National Association for Female Executives.

Treanor joins IMRE as assistant account exec

IMRE & Associates said Brian Treanor joined the Baltimore public relations agency as an assistant account executive.

Treanor comes to IMRE from the marketing department at Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.

He has a bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Mary's College and a master's in public administration from Kean University of New Jersey.

Schafke of Baltimore is CFO of Adams bank

Adams National Bank in Washington named Baltimore resident Karen E. Schafke chief financial officer and senior vice president.

She was formerly the chief financial officer/controller for Treasury Bank.

Solonche rejoins Ellin & Tucker

Ellin & Tucker Chartered named Florence Solonche manager of technology resources and training for the certified public accounting firm, which has offices in Baltimore and Washington.

She rejoins the company after seven years as president of Florence Solonche, CPA, PA.

Solonche has a bachelor's degree from Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif., and a master's of science in education.

Jankiewicz is promoted at Clifton Gunderson

Clifton Gunderson LLC promoted George Jankiewicz to manager in the Baltimore office of the certified public accounting and consulting firm.

Jankiewicz works in the company's health care department and specializes in Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements of health care providers.

Axtell joins 4 E. Madison Orthopaedic Associates

Four East Madison Orthopaedic Associates PA said Dr. Paul Lea Axtell joined its practice. He will specialize in adult reconstructive surgery, hip and knee replacement, and adult and pediatric traumatology.

Axtell is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Research, the Southern Orthopaedic Association and Orthopaedics Over Seas, a volunteer organization providing care to the Third World.

Axtell completed his medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is an instructor of orthopaedic surgery and director of traumatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital at Bayview.

Meridian chooses Lawson to direct quality control

Meridian Medical Technologies Inc. named Clint R. Lawson director of quality, with responsibility for the quality control function of the firm's drug delivery manufacturing operations.

Lawson joined Meridian from Medex Inc., where he was vice president of quality assurance and regulatory affairs.
