School notes

Elkridge Landing Middle School will hold Net Weekend '98 on Sept. 25. Students, parents, grandparents and senior citizens from Elkridge are invited to participate in sessions on the Internet and electronic portfolios. The event takes place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the school, 7085 Montgomery Road.

Centennial High School, 4300 Centennial Lane in Ellicott City, has scheduled the following activities:

The school will hold back-to-school night at 7 p.m. Monday in the auditorium. Students and parents will be able to meet teachers and learn about school organizations.

The school will offer a tour of its facilities at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 or Oct. 1 with PTSA President Barb Langridge. Call the front office at 410-313-2856 by noon on the day of the tour to register.

Parents are invited to have coffee and refreshments at 7: 45 p.m. Sept. 23 in the school career center. The administrative team will discuss school issues.

Instructors from Peabody Institute and Centennial students will offer a concert at 7: 30 p.m. Sept. 25 in the auditorium.

The school system will have a grand opening for the Technology Magnet Program's Application and Research Laboratory from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 23. The lab is at 10920 Route 108 in Ellicott City.

Visitors will be able to tour the facilities in biotechnology; data and visual communications; energy, power and transportation; construction and manufacturing; health-related services; and hotel, restaurant and tourism services.
