Angels: Outfielder Jim Edmonds, who left Saturday's game after crashing into the wall, was given the day off from starting, but entered later. Garret Anderson is 12-for-31 with five homers lifetime vs. Tim Wakefield. Anaheim won the season series from Boston, 6-5.

Blue Jays: The three straight shutouts are a career first for Roger Clemens. Dave Stieb, who won for the first time in five years on Saturday, holds the team record for consecutive scoreless innings, 31 in 1988.

Mariners: Joey Cora began the day with a single, giving him his second 16-game hitting streak of the season.

Rangers: Texas has hit 43 homers in August, one shy of the club record for home runs in a month (44 in July 1996). Texas has homered in nine straight games, its second longest streak of the season.

Red Sox: Mo Vaughn's homer was the 224th of his career, moving him past Bobby Doerr into fifth place on Boston's all-time list.

Tigers: Homers have accounted for 22 of the 56 runs allowed by Brian Powell.
