Braves: Attendance at Turner Field was 39,449, ending a streak of 27 straight games since June 17 with crowds of at least 40,000. Manager Bobby Cox got the 1,399th victory of his career, tying him with Wilbert Robinson for 21st place on the career list.

Pirates: Right-hander Jose Silva, out since June 16 with a broken right arm,, begins a rehabilitation assignment today at Triple-A Nashville.
