Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Eastern District

Shooting/arrest: An 18-year-old man was in the 1100 block of N. Collington Ave. about 11 p.m. Sunday when a gunman shot him in the lower back. The bullet lodged in the victim's abdomen. He was in critical but stable condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital. A suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting.

Shooting: A man was shot in the legs in the 2300 block of Aiken fTC St. about 11: 35 p.m. Sunday in what police said was a drug-related incident. The victim, 40, ran to a fire station and received treatment before he was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Shooting: Two men were being sought in the shooting of a man, 39, in the 2100 block of E. North Ave. about 5 a.m. Sunday. The victim was shot in the legs and stomach with a .40-caliber handgun and was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Rape: Two teen-age boys were arrested during the weekend and charged as juveniles with raping a 13-year-old girl in the second-floor bedroom of a house in the 2300 block of E. Fairmount Ave. The victim was treated at Mercy Medical Center.

Northwestern District

Shooting: A man, 20, was in the 3400 block of W. Belvedere Ave. about 11 p.m. Sunday when five man approached and inquired about another man. Before the victim could answer, one of the men shot him with a handgun. The bullet entered the man's left arm and lodged in his chest. He was in

stable condition at Sinai Hospital.

North Point Precinct

Arrests: Four Virginia teen-age boys were arrested Sunday on the parking lot of Eastpoint Mall and charged with stealing a 1991 Mitsubishi Mirage. A mall security officer became suspicious when he saw the youths getting out of the car and entering a nearby woods, and called police. The youths had in their possession two .38-caliber handguns that were reported stolen from a vehicle owned by a Henrico County, Va., police officer shortly before the Mirage was reported stolen. The boys, ages 14 and 15, were being held at the Charles H. Hickey Jr. School, pending juvenile hearings.

Burglary: Jewelry, a .32-caliber revolver and rifles, all valued at more than $5,000, were stolen from a house in the 8100 block of Dundalk Ave. while the occupants were on vacation between Aug. 15 and Sunday.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder, radio and two televisions, all valued at nearly $1,300, were stolen Saturday from an apartment in the 7500 block of Lange St.

Towson Precinct

Burglary/assault: A couple were attacked in their apartment in the 1400 block of Dartmouth Road about 2 a.m. Sunday by a man who forced his way in through a front window. They were not seriously injured, and it is believed they know the intruder.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary/arrest: Police entered a house in the 500 block of Berrymans Lane about 3 a.m. Sunday and arrested a man, 37, from Eldersburg, Carroll County, who told them he broke into the house to get away from men who were chasing him.
