Man shot to death at street corner in East Baltimore

A man was fatally shot last night as he stood with several other people in the 2000 block of Greenmount Ave. in East Baltimore, police said.

Police said the victim, 31, and several other people were standing on Greenmount near East 20th Street about 10 p.m. when an unknown gunman approached and shot him at least once in the back.

The victim was taken by a Fire Department ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died at 10: 22 p.m., police said. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Police said anyone with information about the incident or the gunman is asked to notify the homicide squad at 410-396-2100.
