Deep Run resident is injured when tractor rolls over him

A 70-year-old Deep Run resident suffered apparent internal injuries Sunday when a tractor he was riding overturned on a steep hill and rolled over him, state police said.

William J. Richard of the 4200 block of Geeting Road, north of Westminster, was towing a mower about 4 p.m. when he was thrown under the tractor, police said.

Richard was treated at the scene and taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for evaluation, police said.

Public meeting to discuss proposed Wal-Mart store

Hampstead Business Association will sponsor a public meeting about the proposed Wal-Mart store.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Hampstead Town Hall, 1034 S. Carroll St.
