New position

DeCocco appointed VP at Ryland Group

The Ryland Group of Columbia appointed Phillip M. DeCocco vice president, human resources. He will have primary responsibility for personnel matters at the homebuilder's Ryland Mortgage Co. subsidiary. A former division vice president of Alliant Foodservice Inc. of Rocky Mount, N.C., he is a graduate of St. Michael's College.

Kraft chooses Kirkpatrick as office administrator

Mary Kraft & Associates selected Karen L. Kirkpatrick as office administrator. She will provide support services for the firm's president and operations vice president. Prior to joining the Baltimore personnel and temporary staffing agency, the Woodlawn resident was an administrator with the Silver Spring offices of EA Engineering, Science & Technology Inc.


Wornom is vice president at Rosse & Associates

Rosse & Associates chose Robert C. Wornom as vice president of operations, with responsibility for the daily internal operation of the Baltimore advertising and marketing agency. graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, he is an active member of the Production Club of Baltimore.

Banking and finance

Hecht joins BT Alex. Brown as managing director

BT Alex. Brown announced that Mitchell A. Hecht joined its Basic Industries corporate finance group as a managing director. Assigned to its New York office, he will be responsible for the metals industry. He previously was a managing director at Paine-Webber Group Inc., specializing in the steel industry. An MBA graduate of New York University, he also holds a law degree from the Fordham University School of Law.

Kennedy, Nevin named vice presidents at Provident

Provident Bank of Maryland named Gilbert F. Kennedy III as vice president, secured finance group, and Christopher M. Nevin as vice president and manager of its commercial real estate department.

Kennedy will be responsible for operations of asset-based lending and the Provident Lease Corp. He is an MBA graduate of Loyola College and resides in Bel Air. Nevin will be responsible for establishing lending relationships with area developers. A Loyola College graduate, he resides in Hampstead, where he serves as mayor.


Architect English named Colimore/Clarke associate

Colimore/Clarke Associates named Eileen English as an associate at its Baltimore office. A registered architect and member of the American Institute of Architects, she is a graduate of the University of Maryland and holds a graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. A member of the firm since 1996, she was formerly a project manager.
