Frank E. Barksdale, 70, bus driver, hospital aide

Frank E. Barksdale, a retired bus driver, died of a heart attack Sunday at Liberty Medical Center. The Northwest Baltimore resident was 70.

The Baltimore native graduated from Douglass High School in 1945 and attended Morgan State College before serving in the Navy from 1945 to 1946 and in the Naval Reserve from 1946 to 1954.

He was an aide at University Hospital (now University of Maryland Medical Center) before joining the Mass Transit Administration in 1960. He retired in 1990.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed photography and movies.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Nutter Funeral Home, 2501 Gwynns Falls Parkway.

He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Baltimore, whom he married in 1946; two sons, Robert Ellis of Clinton and James Ellis of Washington; three daughters, Robyn Harris of Charlotte, N.C., Bridget Ellis of Clinton and Arnice Ellis of Washington; and two grandchildren.
