Voters needed to work election days for county

The Anne Arundel County Board of Supervisors of Elections is looking for registered voters to work on both primary Election Day, Sept. 15, and on general Election Day, Nov. 3.

Individuals are needed to check in voters and assist at the voting unit. They will be paid $100 for each election worked.

Md. Chamber of Commerce backs Miller for re-election

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Sen. Thomas V. Mike Miller for re-election to the 27th District state Senate seat.

The chamber endorses candidates who have consistently supported the chamber and its agenda for economic growth and job creation.

Owens to hold fund-raiser in Glen Burnie on Thursday

Janet Owens, Democratic candidate for county executive, will hold a fund-raiser at the La Fontaine Bleu in Glen Burnie Thursday.

There will be a special reception from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a general reception from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets to the special reception are $100; to the general reception, $40. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. The Esquire Band will provide music. For tickets, call 410-553-0956 or 410-987-1019.

Murphy campaign offers raffle tickets for game

A raffle presented by Citizens to Elect A. Shirley Murphy for County Council in the 3rd District will offer two tickets for the Ravens vs. Colts game at the new stadium Nov. 29 at 1 p.m.

They come with limousine service to and from the game, plus $50 in cash for dinner. Raffle tickets are $1. Information: Ed Cochran at 410-360-8581.
