Cardinals: LHP Donovan Osborne, who was out with tendinitis in his left shoulder, allowed one earned run in two innings pitched in his first injury-rehabilitation start at Double-A Arkansas Purchased the contract of second baseman Pat Kelly from Triple-A Memphis earlier in the day, and Kelly went 0-for-2 in his debut with a walk and a run scored.

Dodgers: Raul Mondesi is batting .358 (24-for-67) with five home runs and 16 RBIs since moving to the third spot in the lineup.

Expos: Ray Holbert became the 500th player in team history when his contract was purchased from Triple-A Ottawa on Friday. Holbert pinch-hit with two out in the seventh and flew out to right.

Reds: Put C Brook Fordyce on the 15-day DL retroactive to July 13 with a strained left shoulder. C Guillermo Garcia, 26, who's never played in the majors, will be called up from Triple-A Indianapolis.
